Abstract

The article presents minimal responses used by the interviewees in English television interviews. These
gender discourse markers demonstrate gender variation of strategies and tactics in interviews. Minimal
responses have been classiied thus showing multifunction of the gender discourse markers and their
determination by speakers’ communicative intentions. The classiied minimal responses have been singled
out as heterogender and homogender (male and female).
