Abstract

The article elucidates the informative aspect of two types of family discourse. Special attention is paid to the notion of “information” and its constituents. The paper outlines the cognitive space of family discourse
and its structure. The article demonstrates the results of comparing functional features of informative (make-know) and prescriptive (make-do) types of family dialogical discourse in regard to speaker’s intention.
